Types of angiosperms (flowering plants)

This iris is an example of a monocot.


This Saucer Magnolia is an example of a dicot.
Monocots = have leaves with veins running side by side. They don't look very complex in terms of construction. The flower parts are also in groups of 3 or multiples.
 
Dicots= leaves look a little more complex with veins running into each other. These flower parts are in 2, 4, 5's or multiples thereof.
